Usually about 10 to 20 seconds for a 15-minute consult. Timing varies with how much was said and whether you use a larger custom template.

Can I use AI Scribe on my phone?

Yes. AI Scribe works in the Provet mobile app, so you can record a consultation from your phone while it stays open on your desktop. Pair the app by scanning a QR code, then tap Start. Recording continues in the background, so you can lock your phone or switch apps while it captures the consult. It’s rolling out now, so check whether it’s enabled in your environment.

Is Provet’s AI Scribe free?

Yes. AI Scribe is free for your whole team, with up to 30 minutes per person each month. Patient history summaries and client discharge instructions are unlimited and free. Can I pause a recording and come back to it?

Yes. You can pause a recording and resume it later, on desktop or in the mobile app. A paused recording can be resumed within 60 minutes, after which it’s deleted.

Can I choose the format of the notes?

Yes. Pick an out-of-the-box summary template or one of your own custom templates. You can switch templates during or after a recording, and AI Scribe regenerates the note using the new structure.

Is AI Scribe secure, and what happens to the recording?

By default the generated summary and transcription is temporary and only exists for 24 hours unless you add it to the record. Nothing is stored permanently without your approval. Provet is ISO 27001:2022 certified, and your data stays in Provet under your control.

Do I need special equipment to use AI Scribe?

No. Many Provet customers found their computer’s built-in microphone worked well. A quality USB microphone can improve results, and Bluetooth mics or headsets can work but should be tested first. A quiet room helps.

Do I need client consent to use AI Scribe?

There’s no set consent step you have to complete in Provet to use AI Scribe. You should still handle the recording in line with your local data-protection law, and follow your professional body’s guidance on informed consent, which generally treats getting the client’s consent as good practice. Most pet owners are comfortable once you explain it. You can also post signs in exam rooms or add consent language to appointment reminders.

Does AI Scribe replace my clinical judgment?

No. The AI drafts a note, but it’s only a draft until you review, edit, and approve it. You remain the author of the medical record.

How customisable are the scribe templates?
